For decades, Dieter Meier has been fascinated with Argentina and its rich resources. That is why we began to listen to the terroir and produce high quality wines in Argentina’s most fertile regions. At Ojo de Agua, we make wines that truly express the untouched essence of every grape. These wines, filled with charisma and adventure, pay tribute to its creator, Dieter Meier, and his spirited nature. We travel across the fertile countryside -- from Mendoza’s wine country, to the high altitudes of Salta, and down to the end of the world in Patagonia -- to discover Argentina’s rich soil and use what the earth gives us.
“The vineyard must express itself with no intervention. Imagine the possibilities if we incorporate a viticulture that is clean, pure, and free from chemical products”
I have always been fascinated with Argentina. I first feasted my eyes on the beautiful countryside on a business trip with my father in 1973. It was there I saw the rich natural resources and I instantly felt a strong connection to the land. A few decades later, I came back, and Ojo de Agua was born. Argentina will always hold a special place in my heart.
We have a strong commitment to the land. We believe in order to truly create incredible wines, we must first honor and listen to the earth. Our organic grapes grow from the naturally blessed soil in Argentina’s top wine regions. Here, we follow the grape from birth to bottle, and are involved in every step of the process.
Ojo de Agua means the eye of the water, the source of living things, the essence of all life. Argentina is naturally blessed with incredible agriculture. We call it El Dorado, the Golden Land, a vast country possessing many climate zones that abound in opulent soil and rich minerality. This essence of life is what we express in every bottle of wine we make.
We sustainably and ethically honor our land, our people, Argentina, and those who drink our wines. From our vines to your glass, from our farm to your table, from our hands to yours, we celebrate the great wines of Argentina.
